After collecting a school-record 86 wins as South Carolina‘s head coach, Steve Spurrier’s impact on the program is notable.

On Tuesday, the Head Ball Coach learned that he would be inducted into the newest class of the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame, the organization announced on Tuesday.

Behind Spurrier, the Gamecocks won a total of 33 games between 2011 and 2013, finishing in the top 10 in the postseason rankings in all three seasons. In 2013, they ended the year ranked No. 4. While that momentum didn’t carry over to subsequent seasons — South Carolina won seven games in 2014 before Spurrier stepped down six games into the 2015 campaign — the 2011-2013 span was the most successful in program history. His humorous sayings and jabs toward other coaches in the SEC became his trademark, along with the visor he wore on the sidelines every game.

Spurrier’s record at South Carolina stands at 86-49. Combined with his time at Duke and Florida, he is 228-89-2, with a 20-13-1 record in three seasons at Duke and a 122-27-1 mark at Florida, including a national championship in 1996.

The South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held on May 19 in Columbia.
