Steve Spurrier has been all over college campuses since resigning as South Carolina’s football coach, but he’s made it clear he won’t be in Columbia Saturday when his two former schools, Florida and South Carolina, play Saturday.
โI donโt think thatโs my place,โ Spurrier told The State newspaper Monday.ย โIโm not going to go to the game. Iโm not going to go to any games,โ Spurrier said. โI donโt think I should. I think I need to get out of the way and let the coaches here and players have a go at it. I certainly think we have, the Gamecocks have got a chance to win this one this week, but Iโm not going to be around.โ
Spurrier is the all-time winningest coach at both schools.
