Super Bowl LVIII between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers is now just hours away.
Lines have evolved throughout the week but appear to have settled with kickoff approaching. The Chiefs will be underdogs in the betting markets for the third consecutive week and have been very profitable in this spot historically, as detailed in our Super Bowl betting preview. The 49ers, meanwhile, have been favored in every game they’ve played so far this season.
Here’s info on the spread, total, money line and Super Bowl MVP odds for this game:
Note: All odds listed below are courtesy of DraftKings unless otherwise noted.
San Francisco 49ers vs. Kansas City Chiefs spread
49ers -2 (-108)
Chiefs +2 (-112)
This line has dropped to as low as 49ers -1.5 at some books. So if you prefer the 49ers, you may be able to find -1.5 at FanDuel or another book prior to kickoff. The Chiefs are 3-0 against the spread as underdogs this year, including 2 straight-up wins during the postseason. The 49ers are 9-10 against the spread as a favorite this season.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Kansas City Chiefs total
Over 47.5 (-110)
Under 47.5 (-110)
The total for this game has settled at 47.5 at pretty much every major sportsbook. This is the lowest total for a Super Bowl since Super Bowl 50 between the Broncos and Panthers in 2016. The over hit last year, but the under cashed in each of the 4 previous Super Bowls. That includes when the Chiefs and 49ers met in this game in 2020 and combined for 51 points (the total for that game was 53). The under is 14-6 in Chiefs games this season. The over is 11-8 in 49ers games this year.
San Francisco 49ers vs. Kansas City Chiefs money line
49ers -120
Chiefs +100
Getting the Chiefs at even money seems like good value, especially considering their record as underdogs both this season and in the Patrick Mahomes era. There are some books such as FanDuel that have the Chiefs at +110 as of Sunday afternoon. The -120 price on San Francisco from DraftKings appears to be the best on the market as of publication.

Patrick Mahomes +150
Patrick Mahomes is the favorite to win Super Bowl MVP honors for the second straight year. If the Chiefs win, it’s hard to imagine anyone else coming home with this honor. Quarterbacks have won all but 4 Super Bowl MVPs since 2010.
Brock Purdy +235
Brock Purdy has the second-best odds to win Super Bowl MVP. If the 49ers win, Purdy will have a good shot to take home MVP honors. However, he does have some stiffer competition from his own teammates than Mahomes does.
Christian McCaffrey +425
Christian McCaffrey isn’t too far behind Purdy in Super Bowl MVP odds at +425. The Chiefs don’t have a great run defense, which could be a matchup problem for them as they take on the league’s leading rusher in McCaffrey. History isn’t on his side, however. The last running back to win Super Bowl MVP was Denver’s Terrell Davis in 1998.
Travis Kelce +1200
Kelce is perhaps the best option of any long-shot candidate to win this award. Kelce and Rashee Rice are by far Kansas City’s top options in the passing game. Kelce also has a long history of performing well in the postseason. A tight end has never won Super Bowl MVP.
