Tennessee football releases official depth chart ahead of Syracuse opener

Better late than never.
Tennessee football released its official depth chart the morning ahead of the Vols’ Week 1 battle against Syracuse. To the surprise of many Vols fans, there weren’t many ORs on the chart. Perhaps of most intrigue, Jermod McCoy – who was reported to be out for Saturday’s game – is listed as the starter at outside corner.
Jake Merklinger is listed as the backup to Joey Aguilar, apparently beating out freshman George MacIntyre for the backup role. Also notable, Jesse Perry is listed as potential starter at right guard. Jalen McMurray gets the STAR position nod.
