Another Tennessee athletic department staffer is reportedly leaving Knoxville to take an athletic director position at another school.
On Sunday night, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported that senior deputy AD/CSO Cam Walker would be leaving Tennessee to become the new athletic director at Utah State.
Per Thamel’s report, Walker is set to sign a 5-year contract:

Walker has worked with current Tennessee AD Danny White for quite some time, as he has spent the last nine years with White at both Tennessee and previously at UCF.
He was hired at Tennessee as Deputy Director of Athletics of Competitive Excellence in January 2021. He filled that job until he was promoted to his current role of Senior Deputy Director of Athletics/Chief Strategy Officer in November of 2024.
Walker has also been football sport administrator for Tennessee since he arrived in Knoxville, along with serving as the sport administrator for men’s basketball from 2021-2023.
As Thamel notes, Walker is just the latest in a growing contingent of administrators under White who have gone on to take AD jobs.
