Tennessee has released its uniform combo for its home opener against East Tennessee State on Sept. 6 at 3:30 p.m. ET.
The Volunteers opened their season with a win against Syracuse at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Tennessee won the game 45-26 and look to have another year of a high-powered offense. Quarterback Joey Aguilar looked great in his Tennessee debut, throwing for 247 yards and 3 touchdowns. Freshman wide receiver Braylon Staley hauled in 4 receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown.
The running game was also clicking for Tennessee. Running back Star Thomas had 12 carries for 92 yards, and running back DeSean Bishop had 11 carries for 82 yards and a touchdown.
Even the defense got in on the scoring as defensive back Colton Hood took a fumble to the house.
For their game against East Tennessee State, Tennessee will wear what they are calling “The Classic.”
The jersey combination is Tennessee’s traditional jersey for their home games. This will be the second straight game that the Vols have worn their home combination. Even though their first game was played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Tennessee was the home team against Syracuse.
Tennessee will look to keep its offense rolling as it faces East Tennessee State.
