David Gabriel Georges will commit to one of Tennessee, Ole Miss or Ohio State on July 22, ending one of the most anticipated recruitments of the 2027 cycle.

The 5-star running back out of Baylor School in Chattanooga stands at 6-foot-0, 210 pounds and boasts elite physicality as a tackle breaker with impressive speed — a blend of skillsets that will translate to the SEC or Big Ten sooner rather than later.

This week, On3’s Chris Low spoke with Gabriel Georges and asked him if he thought he would be one of the best to ever do it. His answer lacked entitlement:

โ€œIn my head, I will be. I know I will work for it,” Gabriel Georges told Low. “Thatโ€™s what I will promise, that I will give everything I have and every last effort to bring myself to that level and be a great player.โ€

While Ole Miss is a finalist for DGG, the Vols and Buckeyes seem to be taking a late lead in his recruitment. According to a report from On3Sports’ Pete Nakos at the beginning of July, Gabriel Georges is expected to become the highest-paid RB prospect in history.

Josh Heupel’s system at Tennessee is kind to running backs. It put Dylan Sampson and Jaylen Wright in the NFL, and DeSean Bishop isn’t far behind them. Of course, Ole Miss and Ohio State both have a history with running backs as well — the Rebels boast one of the best rushers in football in Kewan Lacy, and Ohio State’s history at the position is one of greatness.
