Texas A&M AD Ross Bjork breaks down COVID situation, what led to postponement

Ross Bjork broke down Texas A&M’s current situation regarding COVID-19 during an appearance on TexAgs Radio on Wednesday, and the Aggies athletic director made one thing clear — the team is not currently dealing with an “outbreak.”
Bjork stated that Texas A&M currently has three active COVID-19 cases within its program (two players and one staff member) and that the reasoning for this Saturday’s game against Tennessee getting canceled was due to contact tracing.
“If we had played a home game last week, things would have been a lot different, but we were on a plane,” Bjork said on TexAgs Radio. “It just comes down to a numbers game and location. We had one person in a middle seat, who ended up knocking out 16 others [due to contact tracing].”
The Aggies traveled to South Carolina this past Saturday, notching a 48-3 win to improve to 5-1. They would have been on the road again this week, traveling to Tennessee, had their game not been postponed to Dec. 12. It was the first postponement that Texas A&M has had this season.
As for Texas A&M’s next game, Bjork stated on TexAgs Radio that it was “too early to talk about.” The Aggies are currently scheduled to host Ole Miss on Nov. 21.
Whenever Texas A&M returns to action, it will be looking to keep its strong 2020 season going. It’s currently ranked No. 5 in the AP Top 25 poll, rebounding from its early loss at Alabama with four consecutive wins.
