Texas A&M made a huge addition to its 2026 recruiting class on Friday afternoon.
The Aggies landed a commitment from 4-star tight end Evan Jacobson. The Iowa native chose Texas A&M over offers from big-time programs such as Notre Dame and Stanford, among others.
Jacobson shared the news of his commitment with Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett:

Jacobson is a huge pickup for the Aggies in this class. He’s the No. 244 overall player and the No. 12 tight end in the country for this recruiting cycle, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also ranked as the No. 2 player from the state of Iowa.
Jacobson is listed at 6-foot-6, 220 pounds. He has the frame to potentially contribute early on in his Texas A&M career.
Jacobson initially received an offer from Texas A&M way back in April of 2024. He took a visit to College Station this summer prior to making this decision. He also made trips to programs such as Notre Dame, Florida State and Missouri.
Texas A&M is now up to 27 commits in the class of 2026. The group overall ranks No. 3 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings. This commitment launched A&M over Alabama for the No. 3 spot in the national rankings behind only Georgia and USC.
