Texas A&M isn’t hiding anything — Week 3 vs. Notre Dame means a little extra.
When wide receiver Mario Craver was asked about the Week 3 showdown with the Fighting Irish, he didn’t hold back.
“Everyone knows at the beginning of this year, we circled this game on our schedule,” Craver said. “This is going to be the first big game that we get to show what we can do.”
In 2024, A&M opened the season with a 23-13 home loss to Notre Dame. That game set the tone for a frustrating campaign, and plenty of Aggies players have been waiting for their shot at redemption ever since. Now, with Mike Elko at the helm and a fresh start in 2025, Texas A&M heads to South Bend with revenge on its mind.
It won’t be easy. Notre Dame returns one of the nation’s most dynamic playmakers in running back Jeremiyah Love, who will demand constant attention from A&M’s defense. But the Irish do have questions under center, with Riley Leonard playing for the Indianapolis Colts, and freshman CJ Carr stepping in for his second start of the 2025 season.
A primetime win on the road over last year’s national runner-up would vault the Aggies toward the top 10, boost their College Football Playoff hopes, and avenge last year’s heartbreak.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday night in South Bend.
