Texas football added its 7th member of the Class of 2027 on Monday, scoring a commitment from 3-star offensive lineman Jackson Cook. Projected as an interior lineman, Cook chose Texas over the likes of Texas A&M, Arkansas, SMU and Duke, to name a few.
Cook attends Austin Westlake high school, the same school the Longhorns recruited Michael Taafe from. He stands at 6-4, 290 pounds and is a multi-sport athlete, also excelling at basketball and track & field.
The Class of 2027 OL also has a Texas connection. His stepfather, Michael Trissell, played for Texas from 1999-2002.

247Sports ranks Cook as the No. 963 overall prospect in the Class of 2027 and the No. 62 interior offensive lineman. He’s also considered to be the No. 128 overall prospect out of the Lone Star State.
As mentioned above, Cook is the 7th commitment of the 2027 cycle for Texas and the offensive lineman. As of late March, Texas’ class is highlighted by 4-star receiver Easton Royal and 4-star pass edge Cam Hall. Other commitments include 3-star TE JT Geraci, 3-star LB Cade Haug, 3-star CB Karnell James and 3-star QB Ty Knutson.
