Texas LB, Columbus native, reveals why he didn’t consider Ohio State as transfer option

Rasheem Biles is gearing up for his first season with the Texas Longhorns. It’s safe to say the Columbus, Ohio, native is ready for Sept. 12 to get here when Texas hosts Ohio State.
Biles played his first 3 seasons at Pittsburgh. When he entered the transfer portal after the 2025 season, he had options. Ohio State reached out about Biles making a return to Columbus, but he wasn’t interested in OSU. Biles feels the Buckeyes had their chance to sign him, and missed out.

Out of Pickerington (Ohio) High School, Biles was a Class of 2023 prospect. During his recruitment, he collected 13 scholarship offers. Pitt, Purdue and West Virginia were the only Power 5 programs to offer Biles out of high school, so Ohio State was far from the only program to overlook him as a prospect. OSU being close to home, though, clearly stings more than others.
In 2024, Biles posted 82 total tackles, with an impressive 14.5 TFLs and 5.5 sacks. Last season, he upped his tackles to 101 combined with 17 TFLs, adding 4.5 sacks.
