Texas A&M has suffered a hit to its running back depth this week as Rakeem Boyd has left the program. Boyd, a former three-star running back prospect, did not play for the Aggies last season after taking a redshirt. Boyd signed with Texas A&M over offers from Michigan, Kansas State, Colorado, Minnesota, and Utah among others.
During his high school career, Boyd rushed for 6,436 yards and 80 touchdowns. While only rated as a three-star prospect, Boyd was ranked among the ESPN 300 for the 2016 recruiting cycle.
According to Taylor Hamm of GigEm 247, Boyd has signed with Independence Community College in Kansas. A tweet from Texas native and JUCO defender Sidney Murray indicates he is eager to join up with Boyd next season in the junior college ranks:

Following Boyd’s departure, the Aggies’ rushing duties heading into next season will further lean on running backs Trayveon Williams, Keith Ford, and Kendall Bussey.
