Texas entered Saturday needing a win in a big way, as the Longhorns were reeling after the loss to Florida last week. At 3-2, the Longhorns’ margin-for-error to win the SEC and make it to the College Football Playoff is almost non-existent.

Plus, Saturday’s game was the Red River Rivalry matchup with Oklahoma, and it was a huge opportunity for the Longhorns to right the ship. The Longhorns did just that, outscoring the Sooners 20-0 in the second half to earn a 23-6 victory.

After the game, the Longhorns sent a post on social media to taunt their rival Oklahoma.

This was the second consecutive win for Texas against Oklahoma, which is something the Longhorns haven’t done since 2008-09. The Sooners before last season had won 5 of the previous 6 matchups.

Much of the talk about the Longhorns has been the struggles of Arch Manning, and he was much better in the win against the Sooners. He was 21-of-27 for 166 yards and one touchdown, but more importantly, he didn’t turn the ball over. The Longhorns also got their rushing attack going, as running back Quintrevion Wisner was back and finished with 94 yards and a score in only his third game of the season.

The Longhorns will look to build off this win when they travel to Lexington next Saturday to take on the Kentucky Wildcats.
