Texas vs. Florida: Longhorns upgrade 2 players, downgrade 1 on Thursday availability report
Texas made major changes to its availability report on Thursday ahead of Saturday’s matchup with Florida.
Running back Tre Wisner and wide receiver Emmett Mosley V were both upgraded from “questionable” to “probable” on Thursday. Subsequent reports from CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz stated that both players are expected to take the field against the Gators.
Mosley has yet to play for Texas this season. He caught 48 passes for 525 yards and 6 touchdowns with Stanford last season. Wisner, a 1,000-yard rusher with the ‘Horns last fall, has not played since Week 1.
Fellow tailback CJ Baxter remains listed as “doubtful” for the game.
On the other side of the ball, starting cornerback Malik Muhammad was downgraded from “probable” to “questionable” on the availability report. Muhammad has appeared in all 4 games so far for the Longhorns. He has 9 tackles and 2 pass breakups on the season.
Florida listed 7 players as out on its availability report. The only change from Wednesday’s report was the addition of defensive lineman Joseph Mbatchou. The freshman defensive lineman played a season-high 27 snaps on defense against Miami and recorded the first 2 tackles of his career.
Kickoff between the ninth-ranked Longhorns (3-1) and the Gators (1-3, 0-1 SEC) is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. Texas is a 5.5-point favorite, per BetMGM.
