Michigan at Texas is reportedly getting a new date next year.

The Wolverines had been scheduled to travel to Austin on Sept. 11, 2027, for the other half of the home-and-home that began with Texas’s trip to Ann Arbor in 2024. FBschedules.com, however, reported this week that Michigan is now set to play Eastern Michigan on Sept. 11, 2027.

The two options are that the game is either rescheduled or canceled. FBschedules notes that the game carries a $2 million cancelation fee unless both schools mutually agree to call it off. David Eckert of Horns247 reports that the game will be played, but on a new date.

Texas and Michigan have met just 3 times. The Longhorns are 3-0 against the Wolverines. They won the 2024 meeting in Ann Arbor 31-12 and then closed the 2025 campaign with a 41-27 victory in the Citrus Bowl. The teams first played in the 2005 Rose Bowl, a 38-37 win for Vince Young and the Longhorns.
