Trayvon Mullen, a four-star defensive back from south Florida is heading to Clemson.

Mullen announced his decision Wednesday morning during a nationally televised ceremony on ESPNU. Mullen said he thinks he can come in and contribute immediately.

He said he had a sense he would pick Clemson after his visit.

Mullen reportedly was torn between his finalists: LSU, Florida State, Clemson, TCU and Louisville, where a cousin plays.

Mullen, 6-1, 168 pounds, was rated the nation’s No. 6 cornerback, according to 247sports.com’s composite rankings. He was ranked No. 60 overall in the 2016 class. Other services, including ESPN, ranked him higher.

โ€œHeโ€™s a lockdown corner, and I think he has a chance to be a 3-year guy and possible NFL draft pick barring any injuries and if he keeps his head straight,โ€ his high school coach, Kareem Reid, told the Tallahassee Democrat. โ€œHe has that type of ability and he has the rare skill-set that everybody looks for in an elite cornerback with his size and speed.

โ€œI think the skyโ€™s the limit for him.โ€

Mullen was selected to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
