Tua Tagovailoa made history on Sunday afternoon by throwing his 100th career NFL touchdown pass.

The score came in the 2nd quarter of Miami’s win over the 49ers on Sunday. Tagovailoa ended up throwing for 215 yards and 1 touchdown in the Dolphins’ 19-17 win, which moved Miami to 7-8 on the season.

Here’s a replay of Tagovailoa’s milestone achievement:

The former Alabama signal caller is one of just 19 active players who have crossed that threshold. He’s managed to hit that benchmark in just under 5 NFL seasons.

Although Alabama has put hundreds of players into the NFL over the decades, Tagovailoa is now in a pretty exclusive group. He’s 1 of just 4 former Alabama quarterbacks to throw for at least 100 touchdown passes in the NFL. The others are Richard Todd (124), Bart Starr (152), Joe Namath (173) and Ken Stabler (194). He’s thrown for more touchdown passes in the NFL than any former QB that Nick Saban coached in Tuscaloosa.

Tagovailoa and the Dolphins remain in the hunt for a playoff berth. Miami is 6-5 with Tagovailoa as its starting quarterback this season, but he missed multiple games earlier this year due to a concussion, so the Dolphins are currently on the outside-looking-in of the playoff picture.

There are 2 regular season games remaining. Miami will face the Cleveland Browns next weekend.
