The Miami Dolphins chose former Alabama star QB Tua Tagovailoa with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Some thought that might be too high for a guy coming off a major hip surgery, but it seems Tua is progressing well in his rehab.

Per the Sun Sentinel, Tagovailoa’s trainer used the word “miraculous” to describe how well the talented quarterback has been healing:

“He’s doing miraculously well,” said Kevin Wilk, a renown physical therapist in the sports world who has been working with Tagovailoa at the Champion Sports Medicine facility in Birmingham, Alabama.

“The miraculous part is that he healed so well. The second part is, he’s been so well at getting his strength back, which usually takes a long time after something like this.”

While Tua will still have to prove it on the field, this is a great sign for this point in the offseason.

Will he start at all for the Dolphins in 2020? We’ll find out as the season draws closer.
