Every year, Alabama is a consistent force in the NFL Draft, with many of the top stars in the league having played their college career in Tuscaloosa. The NFL Combine is one of the first major stops in the pre-draft process, where players are able to showcase what they could bring to an NFL team
Twelve former Crimson Tide players will be participating in the event this year — the most of any SEC program. The NFL released a list of more than 300 invitees on Wednesday. Here are the former Alabama players who will head to Indianapolis:
- Ty Simpson, QB
- Jam Miller, RB
- Germie Bernard, WR
- Josh Cuevas, TE
- Parker Brailsford, OL
- Kadyn Proctor, OL
- Jaeden Roberts, OL
- Tim Keenan, DL
- LT Overton, DL
- Justin Jefferson, LB
- Deontae Lawson, LB
- Domani Jackson, DB
Simpson considered returning to college, but ultimately made the decision to enter the NFL Draft. Fernando Mendoza is the prohibitive favorite to go No. 1 to the Las Vegas Raiders, but the quarterback class after him is wide open.
Offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor is a guy who could hear his name called in the first round, as he showcased elite size and athleticism at the tackle position.
During the Combine, players will go through individual drills to showcase their ability to play at the next level, but this is also an opportunity for general managers and coaches to get to know players off the field in private interview settings.
