Ty Simpson is in his first year as the starting quarterback for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Since the Week 1 loss to Florida State, he has been on an absolute tear. That play continued on Saturday night in the first half at Georgia, as he was in complete control of the first 30 minutes. In the first half, he was 15-of-23 for 192 yards and 2 touchdowns, while also adding another with his feet to help the Crimson Tide lead 24-14 at the half.

His play is catching the eye of bettors across the country, as he surged to the top of the Heisman Trophy odds, according to FanDuel. As of publication, he’s priced at +900 to win the Heisman Trophy, just in front of Carson Beck and Jeremiah Smith who are both +1000.

Now, the Heisman odds change all the time, and this year has been no different. Guys like Arch Manning, Cade Klubnik and Garrett Nussmeier were all among the favorites to win it in the offseason, but they are no longer near the top of the race as it currently stands.

As quickly as someone moves up the leaderboard, they can as quickly fall off that list. Now, if the Crimson Tide continue to prove that the season-opening loss to Florida State was just a Week 1 struggle, then he may start to create some separation from the rest of the pack.

Entering the 2025 season, Bryce Young is the only Alabama quarterback to win the Heisman Trophy.
