There’s good news regarding former LSU announcer Jim Hawthorne tonight to pass along from LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette.
Jim Hawthorne has been rescued. He's safe. Thanks for all of the help.

Jim Hawthorne, an LSU announcer from 1979-2015, and his wife, Carol, had been reported as missing in the wake of massive flooding in the Baton Rouge area.
Very relieved to report that Jim Hawthorne and his wife Carol have been rescued from their home. Thanks to everyone for their concern.

The ongoing flooding in Louisiana has led to one Creole State prospect postponing his commitment. The University of South Carolina has also publicly shown support for LSU in wake of the flooding.
