Big Noon Kickoff was in Provo on Saturday morning ahead of the Holy War between No. 23 Utah and host No. 15 BYU. The venue brought back plenty of memories for FOX Sports’ Urban Meyer, who coached at Utah in 2003-04 and guided the program to back-to-back Mountain West titles.

During the episode, Meyer recalled the interest he garnered from Florida immediately after he led Utah to a thrilling 52-51 victory vs. BYU in 2004.

“I was driving home from a rivalry game against the Cougars…” Meyer said. “The athletic director from the University of Florida said ‘we’re coming after you.'”

The Gators’ hunt paid off as they got their man that offseason. Meyer went on to coach Florida from 2005-10 and led the program to national championships in 2006 and 2008.

Meyer then transitioned into becoming the coach at Ohio State from 2012-18 and added another national title in 2014 to his vast list of accomplishments.

Meyer coached the Jacksonville Jaguars to a 2-11 record in 2021 before being fired. Meyer then returned to FOX after his departure from the Jaguars and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2025.
