Vanderbilt lands fifth commit of the week from Mobile native Daevion Davis

The Commodores are on a real roll in recruiting as Derek Mason’s program has picked up commitment No. 5 of the week. This time, it’s defensive lineman Daevion Davis that has given his pledge to join the Vanderbilt program.

The 6-foot-1, 315-pound Mobile, Ala., native is rated as a three-star prospect and Alabama’s No. 23 overall recruit in the 2019 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. Davis commits to Vandy over scholarship offers from Ole Miss, Duke, Iowa, FAU and Arkansas State among others.

With Davis now joining the latest Commodore recruiting class, Mason’s program holds eight commitments for the 2019 recruiting cycle.

He made his commitment public with the following message on Twitter:
