Vince Marrow is officially a member of the Louisville football program.
The longtime Kentucky assistant coach signed his contract with Louisville as its executive director of player personnel and recruiting on Thursday. After signing his agreement to work for Jeff Brohm and in-state rival Louisville, Marrow released a statement on his decision via ESPN:
“I am incredibly excited to work with Jeff Brohm and the University of Louisville football program! Jeff and I have known each other for over 25 years, I have always admired and respected him and the Brohm family,” Marrow told ESPN. “I also love the state of Kentucky, this has become my home. The opportunity to take on this new and exciting role, in the state where I have so many incredible relationships, was something that I couldn’t pass up.”
Later on in his statement, Marrow acknowledged Mark Stoops and the Kentucky football faithful that has supported him since he first arrived in Lexington back in 2013.
“I also want to thank the University of Kentucky, Mark Stoops, the administration and the fans,” Marrow said in the statement to ESPN. “I have made lifelong friendships during my time at UK, and I have every desire to keep those relationships. That is one of the reasons I wanted to stay in this state. My hope is that I left the Kentucky football program in a better position than when we started, I will always be grateful for my time there.”

Kentucky was reportedly caught off guard by Marrow’s departure when it was first reported last week. Marrow spent more than a decade as one of Stoops’ top staffers, but now leaves the program following a disappointing 2024 campaign.
UK will go on the road to face Louisville this year on Nov. 29 to close out the regular season.
