Washington HC Jedd Fisch linked to another Big Ten program, per report

Washington head coach Jedd Fisch and the Huskies picked up a big road victory last week in B1G play when they defeated the previously unbeaten Maryland, 24-20, on the road.
The win moved the Huskies to 4-1 on the season, with the lone loss being to No. 1 Ohio State 2 weeks ago. With UW playing like it is, Fisch is a coach who will hear his name tossed around for other coaching jobs that come open.
According to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos, UCLA is interested. Nakos reported Thursday that Fisch is “a name to know” in the Bruins’ search.
UCLA fired DeShaun Foster on Sept. 14, and the Bruins were 0-4 before last week’s monster 42-37 upset of Penn State.
Fisch was the offensive coordinator at UCLA in 2017 and coached 2 games as the interim following the firing of Jim Mora.
The Bruins likely won’t be the only team Fisch is linked to as a potential candidate this season. Florida, where Fisch graduated from in 1998, could be looking for a new coach at some point this fall or winter. And Fisch was an option that made sense even before the school hired Billy Napier.
Following a 1-3 start to the season, Napier found himself on the hottest of seats in Gainesville. A 29-21 victory over Texas seems to have saved him at least in the short term, but if the program decides to move off of Napier at some point, Fisch would figure to be near the top of the Gators’ list. Even when he took the UW job in 2024, some thought it was only a matter of time before he landed the Florida gig.
For Fisch, the most important thing he will be focused on is Rutgers, which the Huskies play at home on Friday night. On Saturday, the Gators face a huge road test at undefeated and No. 5 Texas A&M. If the Gators lose that, they will fall to 2-4 on the season, and those calls for a new coach like Fisch in Gainesville may get a little louder.
If Florida is actually interested in Fisch, the Gators might have some competition with a head start.
