As a freshman in 2016, Georgia QB Jacob Eason faced some high expectations and the results were mostly a mixed bag.

The freshman threw for 2,430 yards and 16 touchdowns to go with eight interceptions in 13 games.

He’s had a strong summer, though, and expectations will once again be high in Athens, as the Bulldogs are expected to challenge for an SEC East title.

On Wednesday, former Georgia QB Aaron Murray (who holds the SEC’s career passing yards record) weighed on on what he thinks Eason can accomplish this fall, as you can see in the video below:

“I don’t think there’s going to be a lot to ask from him,” Murray says. “I think they’re going to rely heavily on the run game, pound the ball and be able to use the play-action. If that offensive line can give him some time to sit back there and use what he has — he has a strong arm — he can throw the ball all over the park.”

The Bulldogs open up their 2017 campaign on Saturday, Sept. 2, against Appalachian State.

Eason has a great chance in that game to get off to a fast start and set the tone for the rest of the year.
