The San Francisco 49ers traded back into the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft to select former Alabama LB Reuben Foster, and that move has already paid dividends.
The rookie has been a big part of the San Francisco defense since he’s been healthy, recording several big hits.
Though the 49ers lost to the Dallas Cowboys 40-10 on Sunday, Foster played a big role, recording five tackles (one for a loss).
As you can see in the video below, he also had one huge hit on Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott, planting him firmly into the turf on this big play:

Elliott ran for 147 yards and two touchdowns, so he did just fine on Sunday, but he’d probably like to avoid Foster in the future if possible.
The 49ers are now 0-7 on the season, but this was their biggest loss of the season, so they’re potentially building toward a much-improved 2018 season with Foster playing a big role in the defense.
