WATCH: Scott Frost blasts SEC for not playing 9 conference games

When former UCF coach Scott Frost takes over at Nebraska next season, he’ll have to deal with nine Big Ten conference games on the schedule.

Meanwhile, in the SEC, the teams only have to play eight conference games, which Frost has a major issue with.

Ahead of Monday night’s National Championship Game, which features Alabama and Georgia going head-to-head, Frost blasted the SEC’s scheduling, as you can see in the video below, shared by @DrPetey15 on Twitter:

“The other thing I really wish was standard is the number of conference games you play,” he says. “It’s a big advantage to play eight instead of nine. There were a couple of times at Oregon when we were playing USC and Stanford in Week 11 and Alabama was playing Georgia Southern and Western Carolina, and we lost those games.

“This year, Wisconsin had to play two extra conference games than Alabama, and they lost one. I’d like to see those things become standardized.”

Of course, it’s worth noting that Alabama coach Nick Saban has actually been a big advocate of playing nine SEC games. Whether or not it happens, though, will be debated in the coming years.
