Tennessee is coasting against UConn in the Vols’ homecoming game.

Up 35-3 heading into the break, Tennessee’s offense has been dominant all game. 3 of the Vols’ 4 offensive touchdowns have come on plays worth 60 or more yards, and Tennessee is currently averaging 13.9 yards per play. The Vols full-game record is is 10.9 against Kentucky in 2000.

Heupel spoke about the teams dominant half before heading into the locker room.

โ€œCreating turnovers, creating momentum, we want to do that in the football game,” Heupel said.

Tennessee’s 5th touchdown of the half came on a scoop-and-score from Tyler Baron, giving him his first defensive touchdown of the season.

“Great for Tyler, heโ€™s had a couple that have been close to being returned but we didnโ€™t get the call,” Heupel said. “Very excited for him.โ€

Despite the hot start, Heupel still has some things he wants to clean up in the second half.

โ€œWeโ€™ve got 30 more minutes of football to play, but thereโ€™s been a lot that weโ€™ve liked,” Heupel said. “Some things we can clean up on both sides of the football. Efficiency offensively and defensively weโ€™ve gotta tighten up in pass coverage.”
