What Sam Pittman said following Arkansas’ much-needed win over Florida

Sam Pittman and Arkansas finally got the monkey off their backs.

The Razorbacks won a game against a Power 5 opponent for the first time all season Saturday, downing Florida 39-36 in overtime. The win is also Arkansas’ first ever victory against the Gators in Gainesville.

Pittman was as happy as he’s been all season during his postgame press conference. But before he got to the podium, he sat down with local radio to recap the game.

He responded with “It was just damn awesome” when asked to summarize the last 60 minutes of football from his team:

The Razorbacks offense looked completely different Saturday against the Gators. Arkansas moved on from former OC Dan Enos a week ago, promoting Kenny Guiton to the interim position. And immediately, the Razorbacks scored the most points they have all season against Power 5 competition.

The Razorbacks were also able to get Rocket Sanders back on the field. He finished Saturday’s game with 18 carries for 103 yards.
