Alabama will play for the SEC Softball Tournament title on Saturday.

The Crimson Tide secured their place in the final on Friday by defeating Florida 9-1 in 5 innings. They will face either Texas or Georgia for the championship — and the SEC’s automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament — on Friday.

Here’s a clip from the decisive play against the Gators — an RBI single in the bottom of the 5th inning to trigger the 8-run mercy rule:

Alabama’s Vic Moten earned the win despite an up-and-down performance. She only gave up 3 hits across 5 innings, but also issued 7 free passes. The Gators left 10 runners on base across 5 frames and mustered only 1 extra-base hit.

Offensively, Alabama was led by Ambrey Taylor, who homered in the 2nd inning and delivered the game-ending RBI single in the 5th inning. She was 1 of 3 Alabama players with multiple RBI in this game.

Alabama has a rich history at the SEC Tournament. The Tide last won the event in 2021 and have a record-tying 6 SEC Tournament titles in their history.

First pitch for the championship game is set for 5 p.m. ET on Saturday. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
