Bri Ellis is receiving some national recognition for his sensational 2025 season at Arkansas.

On Tuesday, Softball America named Ellis its Player of the Year for the season.

A senior, Ellis has put together one of the sport’s all-time great individual seasons. The first baseman is slashing .457/.646/1.142 with an eye-popping OPS of 1.788. Ellis already has Arkansas’ single-season records for home runs (26) and RBI (72). She’s on track to finish with the program’s best single-season batting average (currently .457) and on-base percentage (currently .646). Ellis also owns 145 total bases, 64 walks and 64 runs scored.

Softball America began naming a national Player of the Year in 2019. Ellis is the first honoree representing the SEC. Players from Texas (Miranda Ellis, Reese Atwood) and Oklahoma (Joceylyn Alo) won the award as members of the Big 12.

In addition to Ellis, Softball America also recognized pitcher Robyn Herron as a second-team All-American and named third baseman Ella McDowell and pitcher Payton Burnham Freshman All-Americans. They have led the Razorbacks to the NCAA Tournament Super Regionals. Arkansas and Ole Miss will play a best-of-3 series beginning Friday for a spot in the Women’s College World Series.
