It was déjà vu for Mississippi State on the final day of the regular season.

Just as happened the previous night, Ole Miss cranked a walk-off home run to beat the 16th-ranked Bulldogs and clinch the series in a rubber match at Alisa and Mark Bourne Stadium. On Friday night, it was Kennedy Bunker who smashed a walk-off home run to give the Rebels a 3-2 win. On Saturday, it was Rachel Connors who hit a 3-run walk-off shot to give the Rebels a 3-0 win.

Connors was pinch-hitting, stepping to the plate for the first time all game.

Emilee Boyer pitched a complete game for Ole Miss, which now sits 32-23 on the year and 6-18 in SEC play. The win was Boyer’s 11th of the season. She gave up only 3 hits while striking out 3.

Alyssa Faircloth got the start for MSU, which closed out the regular season 37-17 overall and 9-15 in SEC play. Faircloth went the distance, striking out 7 Rebel batters while giving up 5 hits and 2 earned.

The SEC Tournament is up next. Ole Miss will hold the No. 13 seed in the field and face No. 12 on May 5 in Lexington. The Bulldogs will be the 10-seed; they’ll play Kentucky on the opening day.
