Jac Caglianone has accepted an invitation to put his power-hitting skills on display. The former Florida star is set to take part in this year’s Home Run Derby, he announced Wednesday.
Caglianone is in Year 2 of his pro career with the Kansas City Royals. This will be his first Home Run Derby.

Through 85 games, Caglianone is slashing .258/.322/.455, all improvements from his 65-game debut season in 2025 (.157/.237/.295). This season, Caglianone has hit 14 home runs, with 9 of those coming in the month of June. Caglianone has logged 77 hits, collecting 136 total bases and 33 RBIs so far in 2026.

Caglianone had a decorated Florida career. He slashed .355/.447/.760ย over 634 at-bats, logging 225 hits, 176 runs scored and 189 RBIs. Caglianone claimed the UF home run record with 75 over his career. In 2023, he set the NCAA’s BBCOR-era home run record with 33 homers. Caglianone topped his own total in 2024 with 35 long balls.
The Kansas City Royals selected Caglianone No. 6 overall in the 2024 MLB Draft. The Home Run Derby and All-Star Game are being held at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. The Derby is set for Monday night.
