Former Kentucky stars Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro, who spent the past 7 seasons as teammates on the Miami Heat before Herro was traded a few weeks ago, got into a physical altercation at a Las Vegas hotel on Friday morning, according to a report by ESPN insider Shams Charania.

Charania reported that Adebayo struck Herro in the face area at a practice basketball court at the hotel in Las Vegas. The NBA veterans, who didn’t play together at Kentucky but were united by their Wildcat ties before embarking on a long run as NBA teammates, were in town supporting their teams at the annual Las Vegas Summer League.

Adebayo, who played at Kentucky during the 2016-17 season, has been a member of the Heat since being drafted by Miami in 2017. Herro played his 1 season at Kentucky in 2018-19 before the Heat drafted him in 2019. The big man and shooting guard formed a star pairing in Miami before Herro was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks a few weeks ago as part of the blockbuster Giannis Antetokounmpo trade.

The Heat and Bucks happened to be playing each other on Friday at the summer league, which brought Adebayo and Herro back to close proximity of each other with Adebayo supporting the Heat’s summer league edition while Herro supported the Bucks’ edition.

According to the ESPN report, the altercation between the former teammates started when Adebayo approached Herro about recent comments that Herro made on social media which criticized Adebayo.

The Heat said in a statement that the team was “aware and not commenting,” while the Bucks had no comment on the matter, according to Charania’s report.

Herro sat courtside at Friday’s summer league game between the Heat and Bucks at the Thomas & Mack Center. After supporting the Bucks’ summer league team in the matchup with his old franchise, Herro left the arena without speaking to reporters.

Adebayo and Herro have gone their separate ways after many seasons of being on the same side, and the race is on for NBA supremacy for the 2026-27 season. Here is what the Kalshi market is currently saying about the top teams in the mix to be the next NBA champion next June:
