Arizona Cardinals make decision on Kyler Murray for 2026, per report

Kyler Murray’s time in Arizona has reportedly come to an end. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the club informed Murray on Tuesday that he will be released on the first day of the league year.
The No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Murray has spent all 7 seasons of his professional career with the Cardinals.
Sources: Cardinals have informed QB Kyler Murray that they intend to release him on the first day of the league year next Wednesday, barring a trade between now and then.

As Murray prepares to find his new team, he took time to thank Arizona for his time with the Cardinals in a post on social media.

A Heisman Trophy winner at Oklahoma, Murray had a strong beginning to his pro career, earning Rookie of the Year for 2019 and making the Pro Bowl in 2020 and ’21. Over his career, Murray has started 87 games, completing 67.1% of his passes for 20,460 yards and 121 touchdowns with 60 interceptions. He has also rushed for 3,193 yards and 32 scores.
Last season, Murray was limited to just 5 appearances, spending time on injured reserve.
