The Indianapolis Colts have issued an apology to Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill for an “insensitive” joke that referenced his 2024 arrest.
The joke was made in the Colts’ schedule release video for the 2025 season, which has since been deleted. The video, initially released with a ‘Minecraft’ theme, depicts a Dolphin wearing a No. 10 jersey (Hill’s number) getting pulled over by the Coast Guard.
It’s a clear reference to Hill’s brief arrest prior to Miami’s Week 1 game last season. Hill was detained by police after getting into a “verbal spat” with the officer during a traffic stop. He was eventually released and made it to the stadium in time for the season-opener.
Here’s the full statement from the Colts on this matter along with the video in question:
We removed our schedule release video because it exceeded our rights with Microsoft and included an insensitive clip involving Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill. We sincerely apologize to Microsoft and Tyreek.
Hill shared on social media that he thought the joke was funny and said the Colts shouldn’t have deleted their video:
The Colts will host the Dolphins in Week 1 this season with their game scheduled for Sept. 7.
