DeVonta Smith’s status for Week 4 against Rams revealed, per NFL insiders

DeVonta Smith has played in all three games for the Philadelphia Eagles so far in the 2026 season. That’s while he’s been trying to shake off the effects of a hamstring injury that he has been carrying.
But there’s a strong chance the former Alabama star won’t see the field in Week 4 as the Los Angeles Rams come to town. According to ESPN’s Tim McManus and NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo, “there is not much optimism” that Smith will be available on Sunday.
That’s not good news for an Eagles team that suffered a 27-7 loss to the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football to wrap up Week 3. Smith was already a non-participant for the Eagles during Thursday’s practice session after not practicing on Wednesday.
Even with the injury, Smith has made 19 catches for 235 yards and a touchdown as he settles in as the Eagles’ No. 1 receiver after A.J. Brown was traded to the New England Patriots. In Week 2, Smith had 10 catches for 117 yards and a score as the Eagles defeated the Tennessee Titans 24-20.
In 2025, Smith totaled 77 catches for 1,008 yards and four touchdowns, the fewest trips to the end zone in his career.
