Shedeur Sanders is a Pro Bowl quarterback. Sanders has reportedly been named to the Pro Bowl roster as a replacement for Drake Maye, the quarterback of the Super Bowl-bound New England Patriots.
Sanders’ inclusion on the roster comes as a surprise to many NFL fans. The rookie, taken in the 5th round of the 2025 NFL Draft, did not have a standout debut season. As a starter in the final 7 games of the Cleveland Browns’ season, Sanders completed 56.6% of his passes for 1,400 yards while posting a touchdown-to-interception ratio of 7-to-10. Cleveland went 3-4 with Sanders as the starting QB.
As one might expect, the news is drawing a strong reaction from NFL fans on social media. Here’s a sample of what’s being said on X (formerly Twitter):
Worse Pro Bowl add than Tyler Huntley lowkey

The pro bowl is officially a joke, so many QBs more deserving, even Jalen hurts.

HIS QB RATING WAS 68.1

The plan? Add Shedeur Sanders no matter how ridiculous it might seem pic.twitter.com/2ZXp07iOwc
shedeur sanders was 41st out of 42 qualified QBs in passer rating. just get rid of the pro bowl entirely if this is what it is.

Nothing against Shedeur Sanders, but him getting named as an replacement for the Pro Bowl just goes to show big of a joke that game really. It always has been.

With all due respect to Shedeur Sanders, if this is what we’re doing with the Pro Bowl selections, then we need to do away with the Pro Bowl and Pro Bowl Games, because what!?!

What are we doing!?! https://t.co/XqT8vge1K8

You can no longer use “Pro Bowls” when arguing about players. The Pro Bowl has completely lost all it’s value. https://t.co/Qn6tsxohS5
The Pro Bowl Games will be held in San Francisco ahead of the Super Bowl. The flag football game is scheduled for Feb. 3.
