Players across the NFL are learning their fates this weekend as teams attempt to trim their rosters to adhere to the league’s guidelines while also balancing their depth charts.
This means that for many athletes, their lifelong dreams of playing professional football will come to an abrupt halt, at least for a period of time.
And while many people look at undrafted acquisitions as the first to go, a sixth-round pick out of Alabama appears to be the latest victim of roster cuts.
As CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz reported, the Green Bay Packers have waived former Crimson Tide cornerback Domani Jackson, who they selected in the later round of the 2026 NFL Draft back in April.
Jackson recorded just one solo tackle in limited preseason action, and now he will be looking for a new home at the professional level.
The former highly touted recruit began his collegiate career at USC before transferring to join Kalen DeBoer‘s Alabama team in 2024.
After recording just 35 total tackles and 4 pass breakups with the Trojans, Jackson emerged into a productive member of the Crimson Tide secondary. Over two years in Tuscaloosa, Jackson accounted for 91 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions and 8 pass breakups.
