It didn’t take long for Derick Hall to make a big play in Super Bowl LX.

The former Auburn star sacked Patriots quarterback Drake Maye during a key moment in the first quarter on Sunday evening. New England was driving with a chance to tie or take the lead when Hall was able to bring Maye down for a big loss.

Hall beat former LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell on the play and the Patriots ended up punting later in the drive.

Here’s a replay of Hall’s big moment:

Hall had a remarkable 4-year career on the Plains before turning pro. He amassed 12+ tackles for loss in both his junior and senior seasons. Hall left Auburn with 19.5 career sacks.

Hall is in the midst of his third NFL season, all of which have been with Seattle. He’s been a reserve for most of this season on the Seahawks defense, but has remained productive with 30 tackles and 3 tackles for loss across 14 games (3 starts).

Hall totaled 2 sacks during the regular season, but this was his first since the postseason began. He piled up 3 total tackles in Seattle’s first 2 postseason games.

The Seahawks entered Sunday as the favorite over New England.
