Jawaan Taylor has found a new home. The former Florida offensive lineman is heading to Atlanta for his 8th season in the NFL.

The Falcons officially announced the signing on Friday. Earlier in the week, ESPN’s Adam Schefter shared that Taylor is joining the club on a 1-year deal with a base value of $5 million and an additional $1 million in incentives. Atlanta pursued Taylor as a replacement for retiring offensive lineman Kaleb McGary.

It’s the second move of Taylor’s professional career. He began his career in Jacksonville and was later acquired by the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Jaguars selected Taylor No. 35 overall in the 2019 NFL Draft. Taylor started every game for the Jaguars over 4 seasons (66 regular-season, 2 playoff). Jacksonville finished top-10 in rushing yards per play during the 2021 and ’22 seasons.

Entering Year 5, Taylor landed a megadeal with the Chiefs. In March 2023, Kansas City inked Taylor to a 4-year, $80 million contract that included $60 million guaranteed. Before the end of the contract, however, Taylor was let go. He collected his first Super Bowl ring in his first season with the Chiefs.
