Former Texas A&M punter Braden Mann blasts epic punt vs. Giants, longest in NFL in quarter-century

There aren’t many times when a punter does something worthy of the highlight reel.
To be fair, with the Philadelphia Eagles holding an 8-6 lead over the New York Giants at halftime, there wasn’t much from the first half to look back on for either team. But Eagles punter Braden Mann, a former Ray Guy Award winner at Texas A&M, showed off a big leg late in the second quarter.
“Big” may not be a strong enough word to describe it, though. This punt came off Mann’s foot inside his own end zone and went out of bounds at the Giants’ 8-yard line.
Officially, it was an 86-yard punt, the longest in the NFL since 2001:

Other than that, it’s been a quiet game at Lincoln Financial Field. The Giants hit a pair of field goals in the first quarter before the Eagles took an 8-6 lead with 2:09 left in the period on a Saquon Barkley carry and a Joe Milton two-point conversion.
After that, the teams combined for seven punts throughout the remainder of the half. Offense has clearly been at a premium in Philly in Week 9. With another half of football to go, we’ll see if things finally pick up.
