Hunter Renfrow has been through a lot. He’s set to be back with the Carolina Panthers for the 2025 season, but that didn’t happen without a hiccup, and his reason why will be relatable to many fans who have kids.

The former Clemson standout missed all of the 2024 season due to ulcerative colitis. The Panthers signed Renfrow in late April, but he was let go during the final wave of roster cuts.

As things worked out, Carolina decided it did want Renfrow on the 2025 team. When the organization tried calling on Thursday, however, Renfrow wasn’t picking up. Blame it on “Bluey.”

“My daughter’s in the car. I was right outside the car. I had like 10 missed phone calls from Dan (Morgan), Dave (Canales), my agent. They were all just “ignored.” My daughter’s watching “Bluey” or something,” Renfrow recalled.

“So got back in the car, had that conversation. Just made sure this is what I wanted to do. Made sure this is where I wanted to be, which I was pretty sure of. Just wanted a couple of days to kind of make sure it was good with my wife, my family.”

Renfrow, 29, has been playing professionally since 2019. He spent his first 5 seasons with the Raiders franchise before signing with the Panthers.
