Joe Buck has been the voice of Monday Night Football on ESPN since 2022, when he and Troy Aikman left Fox. On Wednesday, The Athletic announced that Buck would be signing a 6-year extension with ESPN worth $108 million to remain in his role into the next decade.
Before he was at ESPN, Buck was at Fox where he was the voice of the World Series. He has called 24 World Series in his career, more than any other commentator. Buck is the son of former St. Louis Cardinals announcer Jack Buck, who is one of the most popular announcers of all time. Buck got his start by calling Cardinals games with his dad.
Buck will be on the call for the Super Bowl this season, which is in February. With the new contract, he will also be on the next Super Bowl broadcast in 2031. Buck has been in the broadcast booth with his partner Troy Aikman for 25 seasons, which is the longest duo in broadcast history. Aikman is yet to sign an extension.
The duo will be back in action in Week 2 of the NFL season when the Los Angeles Rams host the New York Giants on Monday Night Football.
