Liam Coen and the Jacksonville Jaguars have quickly become one of the most surprising teams in the first quarter of the NFL. They continued their strong start on Sunday, moving to 3-1 as they knocked off the previously undefeated San Francisco 49ers, 26-21 on the road.

After the game, Coen and San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh exchanged words after Saleh made some comments about the Jaguars’ sign-stealing habits during the week.

“Liam and his staff, a couple guys coming from Minnesota, they’ve got a — legally — a really advanced signal-stealing-type system where they always find a way to put themselves in an advantageous situation,” Saleh said. “They do a great job of it. They formation you to just try to find any nugget they can. So we’ve got to be great with our signals and we’ve gotta be great with our communication to combat some of the tells that we might give on the field.”

Here’s a look at the scene:

Coen has been on a fast track to the NFL, as it was only two years ago that he was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Kentucky in 2023.

The Jaguars have a huge game looming in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs, who reminded the league they are still a contender in a 37-13 victory against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
