Former Texas A&M great and future Pro Football Hall of Fame candidate Mike Evans reached another NFL milestone Sunday, surpassing 13,000 career receiving yards during the Miami Dolphins’ 20-17 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Evans, who starred for the Aggies from 2011-13, entered Sunday’s play with 12,983 receiving yards in his 12-year NFL career – all with the Buccaneers. Evans hit the milestone with this 16-yard reception late in the first quarter:

That reception was one of 3 on the day for Evans, who totaled 31 receiving yards against the Dolphins. He became just the 22nd receiver in NFL history to reach 13,000 career receiving yards.

Evans’ 2025 season has been marred by injury, having appeared in just 7 games so far and totaling 28 catches for 334 yards. His streak of 11 straight 1,000-yard seasons will end – leaving him tied with Hall of Famer Jerry Rice for the consecutive seasons streak. Evans had already smashed Hall of Famer Randy Moss’s record for most 1,000-yard seasons to start a career (Moss had six).

In his two seasons on the field in College Station, Evans hauled in 151 catches for 2,499 yards and 17 touchdowns. He was selected by the Buccaneers in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft with the seventh overall pick.
