NFL CB Qwan’tez Stiggers hospitalized after collapsing during Jets/Bucs joint practice

New York Jets cornerback Qwan’tez Stiggers was taken to the hospital via ambulance after collapsing during a joint practice with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday.
Jets coach Aaron Glenn told ESPN that Stiggers was conscious and speaking after being evaluated at the hospital. “For the most part, he was good,” Glenn said.
According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, Stiggers collapsed on the sidelines after returning from a play, which halted the practice for 10 minutes as he was administered an IV and taken to an ambulance by stretcher. Jets players and coaches gathered to pray for Stiggers at the end of practice.
Glenn praised the Jets’ medical staff for their quick action on the field. Here’s his full update to reporters:
Stiggers was selected in the 5th round of the 2024 NFL Draft after spending a few seasons in the Fan Controlled Football league and the CFL with the Toronto Argonauts. Stiggers played a reserve role for New York in 2024 and 2025 at corner while also contributing on special teams — so far, he’s totaled 35 tackles, 3 pass deflections and 2 fumble recoveries across his 2-year NFL career.
