Unfortunately, Sundays this season will be different for fans watching the NFL RedZone. Host Scott Hanson confirmed on the Pat McAfee Show that the NFL Network’s RedZone will no longer be commercial-free in 2025.
“The business folks handle the business. I have no say over different elements that could or could not be in the show,” Hanson said. “So I’ll just tell you right now when you see me come on the air here.”
Hanson, who has been with the NFL Network since 2006, then detailed what his revised intro will sound like.
“We’ve got 8 games in the early window, taking you around all the different cities. Then when we get into it, ‘Ladies and gentlemen, it’s been more than 250 days since the first full NFL Sunday but we are back and 7 hours of RedZone football starts now!'” Hanson said. “I realize that might be a slight change to some of you but that’s what the catchphrase will be going forward.”
Needless to say, fans are not pleased with the new format of the show. Prior to this season, NFL RedZone was commercial-free since its inception in 2009. Now it’s a somber new reality for those craving an adrenaline rush of big plays throughout the NFL schedule.
